Personal life
Born on 11 October 1942 at Allahabad (U.P.), he is son of famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. He initially got the name Inquilab which later changed to Amitabh.
He is an alumnus of Sherwood College Nainital and then pursued double MA degree from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. Before joining Bollywood, he was a former stage actor, radio announcer and freight company executive in Calcutta, India.
Amitabh Bachchan is married to his co-actress Jaya Bhaduri and became father of Shweta Nanda and actor Abhishek Bachchan. Both of his children are happily married. He is also grandfather of three now. And he is playing that role very well.
Career It is not that this superstar has always seen good times but his life and career have undergone several ups and downs. Talking about his career, he began his career in films in 1969 as a voice narrator in Mrinal Sen’s ‘Bhuvan Shome’.
After working with director Hrishikesh Mukherjee, he was only sensitive Bard types roles. But when Prakesh Mehra and Salim-Javed spotted the anger in the upcoming star’s eyes, his life changed. Film Zanjeer changed Mr. Bachchan’s life. He is also called ‘Shahenshah of Bollywood’.
He has always been ready to experiment with his looks and roles. Even at this age, he is ready to take all sorts of roles and works dedicatedly.
Honours and Awards
He holds several awards and honours. National Film Awards, Filmfare awards and many other national and international awards won by him. In fact, Government of India also honoured him with Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
His 75 Birthday Celebration at Maldives
For his 75 birthday, Amitabh Bachchan and family took off to Maldives. Yesterday, Big B with his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai along with granddaughter Aaradhya were photographed at the security check of a Mumbai airport. Later, his daughter Shweta Nanda along with her children Navya Naveli and Agastya will also join them in Maldives.
