Trump, Modi to address 50,000 Indian-Americans at ‘Howdy Modi’ mega-event in Houston

US President Donald Trump, at a mega case in Houston named ‘ Howdy, Modi, ‘ will join PM Narendra Modi! A U.S. President and Indian Prime Minister will address a common rally for the first time at the September 22 case.

White House released a declaration to confirm that it would participate in a rally in the midst of speculation that it would join PM Modi at the Houston case. This is Trump and PM Modi’s third meeting in a few weeks ‘ time after the G20 and G7 summits.

For the Sep 22 mega “Howdy, Modi, Shared Dreams, Bright Futures” event to be held at Houston’s expansive NRJ stadium, more than 50,000 Indian Americans from across the United States have registered.

“Howdy,” stands for ‘ How you’re doing? ‘ It’s a friendly welcome usually in the southwest of the US and the event was intended to greet PM Modi. “It (Modi-Trump joint rally) will be a great opportunity to emphasize the strong ties between the people of the United States and India, to reaffirm the strategic partnership between the world’s oldest and largest democracies, and to discuss ways to deepen their energy and trade relationship.” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.

This is also the first time an American president has spoken to thousands of Indian Americans in the United States. American Indian Ambassador Vardhan Shringla named “historic” and “unprecedented” Trump’s attendance at the “Howdy, Modi!” event.

Shringla said, “It is reflective of the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation that has developed between India and the US,”
