Justice is done in the purest of its form. The Uber rape case that led the cabs got banned in Delhi NCR for quite a while got its verdict of life sentence.  The culprit has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of a woman in a UBER cab. It was one of a horrific example of technology where a stranger you meet up with in a car for a ride and technology show its negative effects.

Technology cannot be blamed completely as the world revolves around this technological aspect for all the convenience we get.

According to the verdict, Shiv Kumar Yadav, convicted of rape and kidnap last month, will “spend the rest of his natural life in jail” for his “very brutal crime,” public prosecutor Atul Shrivastava said Tuesday. The lawyer of Yadav however, said that his client would appeal further.

Uber on the same quoted that “since the attack it has improved background checks of drivers and safety measures for passengers in India, has maintained that it is a technology provider rather than a transportation service—and so not liable for the actions of its drivers.”

In India, life imprisonment is the maximum penalty for a non fatal rape and the maximum of the same has been imposed on the man who is guilty. Punishments were also tightened up and had gone brutal after the Delhi rape case of a woman in a moving bus in Delhi in December 2012.

All these cases also exhorted the law ministry to set up six courts in Delhi, the national capital, that were freed from other work specifically to handle rape cases, in hopes of speeding trials and raising the conviction rate.

The case which was running on a fast track court took around nine months to impose the penalty on the convicted Mr Yadav, that generally takes not less than three to four years of judgment in a rape case.

The company was pleased Mr. Yadav had been brought to justice. He had said last month that as a result of lessons learned “from this awful case” the company had made many improvements, including an in-app safety button and a feature that allows friends and family to track passenger journeys, as said by Uber President in India.

Uber rape case that took place exactly after two years of the miserable Delhi rape case finally got its verdict and justice is done as expected.
