Madhya Pradesh, the heart of the country is all set to launch the maiden safari for white tigers. We all know, how superbly fascinated we are, when it comes to seeing white tigers. They are so exotic and apparently rare for us to even imagine seeing them strolling in and around lush greenery. But now a brand and newly established ‘White Tiger Safari’ has been inaugurated in Mukundpur of Satna district in state’s Vindhya region by Hon. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan along with Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar and other dignitaries on Sunday.

Safari’s adjacent neighbor would be a 75 hectares wide Mukundpur Zoo. The White Tiger Safari will be free to visit for the first week i.e. till 10th of April.

The basic facts every coming tourist should know that the safari is built with a total investment of 50 Crore and it will be named after Rewa princely state’s ruler Maharaja Martand Singh who had a ‘pet’ white tiger named Mohan in 1951. Presently, there are 3 white tigers and 2 Royal Bengal tigers and the safari is expecting to get nine white tigers in the coming months.

The exact location which is Vindhya region has been chosen because about 100 years ago a similar white tiger population was inhabited by this area and this new construction is just a trial to bring back the flourishing past of white tigers.
