But how to pick the best travel destinations in a country as incredible as India. Not to worry, we took care of that as well.  Here is a bucket list of 5 places in India which will definitely trench the thirst of the travel bug in you.

1. Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh

A hill station in Madhya Pradesh, Pachmarhi is often known as the queen of the Satpura ranges. It is famous for its ancient cave paintings in forests. This hill station is blessed with very rich flora and fauna and also has endless nature spots, lush greenery, breath-taking views, waterfalls, mountain streams, rich and rare wildlife. Not to miss the October sunrise.

2. Kutch, Gujarat

Sharing its boundary with Pakistan, Kutch is one of the most surreal places, with white salt desert and beautiful moonlight nights. This is one of those few places in India that offers almost everything- deserts, oasis, beaches, heritage palaces, delicious food, religious temples, wildlife sanctuaries, etc. The beauty of the place doubles on the full-moon nights with light falling on the white salt desert. Try to spend a night in huts amidst the white sand deserts.

 3. Hampi, Karnataka

Hampi, Karnataka

Listed in the 32 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of India, Hampi used to be the capital of Vijayanagar Empire in 13th century with magnificent temples and architectural wonders. Though the city is in ruins now, it still serves as one of the most interesting places in India to visit during a weekend; if you are in Bengaluru. Good weather and peaceful ambience makes it a perfect place to spend some time away from the cities.

4. Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh

Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh

Zero is a census town in eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh. Surrounded by hills on either sides with lush green paddy fields, this town is mostly inhabited by the Apa Tani Tribes. The best time to visit Ziro is in October with the ending of the monsoon season and beginning or the winter season. Ziro was shortlisted for inclusion in the Tentative List of UNESCO for inscription in the World Heritage Site. This hidden gem of a place also hosts a Ziro music festival in September.

5. Varkala, Kerala

Varkala is the best offbeat place to visit this October. If beautiful serene coastlines, beaches lined with palm trees, lighthouses and hills aren’t tempting enough, add forts, lakes, saint’s samadhi and ancient temples on top of it. This place is frequented by hippies. Declared as a geo-heritage site in 2015, Varkala is the only place in southern Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian Sea.
