Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu has flagged off India’s fastest train Gatimaan Express on 5th of April. The train will run six days a week, except on Friday, from Agra Cantt station at 5.50pm and reach Delhi at 7.30pm. Likewise, from Nizamuddin station, the train will start at 8.10am and reach Agra Cantt at 9.50am. The Gatimaan Express train comprises of two executive AC chair cars and eight AC chair car coaches.
There are about 7 facts about this train we all should know.
1. Gatimaan Express will run at a speed of 160 Kms.
2. India’s first ever train to have hostesses.
3. Normal AC chair car coach costing Rs 750, while executive AC chair car coach costing Rs 1500.
4. The train has an automatic fire alarm, emergency, braking, and passenger information system and sliding doors.
5. Train will be powered by a 5400 horsepower engine.
6. Fare is 25% extra than Shatabdi.
7. Both Indian and Continental cuisines will be available.
