Jawahar Kala Kendra of the pink city is the national hub of art and music. Rajasthan has a lot to exhibit about its culture, art and music. In the last one year, the cultural hub of Jaipur, Jawahar Kala Kendra has got many high profile events organised. Along with the programs like theater, music and dance, it also included various performing arts and visual arts.
The Performing Arts Festival called “Navras” began with some spectacular performances like Manganiyar Seduction which was directed by Roysten Abel. Some other performances were Fusion music by Maati Baani which was beautiful and graceful.
Programes for children were also included in the events. Bookaroo was the two days children’s literature festival which had the participation of 9000 children from private and public schools. There were 50 interactive sessions with various poets, storytellers and 17 authors. Famous personalities like Jerry Pinto, Ajay Das Gupta, Wendy Cooling, Arefa Tehsin and Bina Kak were present there.
There was also one Junior Summer Programme which lasted for a month. More than 700 children participated who excelled in painting, theatre, photography, creative writing, classical and contemporary dance along with the instrumental and vocal music.
Who can forget the German Film Festival which lasted for 2 days? Many famous films like Sleeping beauty, Rapunzel and Cinderella were screened at that time. Also this event was organised by one of the best event management companies in Jaipur.
The evenings were more beautiful with the musical concert, “Raag”. It was held on November 11 and 12.
The events of last one year had the participations of 360 artists from the state, 197 from around the country and 29 international level artists.
The moving image exhibition, “तह-सतह: A very deep surface lasted for one and half month. The exhibition was very first of its kind in the city and the country.
From the month of July, many film screenings, music, dance and theatre performances were conducted.
Jawahar Kala Kendra is a multi-art theatre which represents the world class performances of various art genres.
