Abhinav Bindra Announces Retirement, Says I Am Done With Shooting.

Abhinav Bindra during his last match at the Rio Olympics 2016 lost a heart-stirring shoot and missed an opportunity to bag India a gold medal at the Olympic Games where so far so India has been very unfortunate.

Abhinav Bindra, World and Olympic champion in the 10 m Air Rifle event missed the last opportunity he had in his hands to bag a gold medal for the country. His body language contradicted any emotions whatsoever on what was the final day of an eminent career as he made it apparent that he is absolutely done with aiming bull’s eye and is now all set and ready to move to the next phase of his life although he seemed a little confused of what he’ll do next. It is undoubtedly a bad news not just for his fans and followers and colleagues but for the entire nation as Abhinav Bindra has made every individual proud of him.

“It is my job to be composed. I do not want to break down in front of you. I knew this was coming and I am at peace with it. I did my best but ended up fourth. No medal but very close. Had a good day, but it didn’t pay off,” Bindra told reporters.

“This is something a shooter would not want before a game. He had specially made it for the Olympics to suit the lighting. Even after such meticulous detailing he fell short. But a shooter is conditioned to shoot even if the roof is falling. We got over it and started with our game,” his coach Heinz Reinkemeier said later.

“I am done, I have announced my retirement, so there is no reconsideration. I am not going to shoot again. This is it. I support youngsters already. I support 30 young shooters through my foundation. I will try and do the best I can,” the ace marksman added.

He said that he has always tried his best, and so he does this time. Every competition has made equal importance to him and he tried to give his 100 percent he said be it the 2008 Olympics or the 2016 Olympics.
He said, “I really tried to put my best foot forward all these years. I am really happy with the way it is.”

When asked about what is he going to do in his coming future after his retirement from his sport, he said, “That is an unfair question to I just completed my event and you want me to give the story of my life’s future, I’ve no idea.”
Also when asked will he become the coach of the youngs, he said, “Not at this juncture. It’s not my job to become their coaches. They have their support staff.”

Bindra, the 33 year old sportsman started his Olympics Journey in 2000 at the Sydney Olympic Games. Then, Bindra qualified in three Olympic finals including his golden journey of Beijing in 2008.
We know what you might be wondering, that what would happen to the shooting range that he owns. Well he has an answer for everything, he said, “I am converting that into a vegetable garden. Don’t you think I’m a serious person. Maybe the next time (Tokyo 2020), I will come as a journalist if anybody gives me a job.”
