Anant Maheshwari named as the next president of Microsoft India

Microsoft India’s current chairman Bhaskar Pramanik will retire by March in 2017, and to take his position, Honeywell India’s President Anant Maheshwari has been names as the new president by the tech giant on Monday. Maheshwari, is supposed to will join Microsoft India on 1st of September and later on 1st January 20247, he will take over the operations from Pramanik.

After taking his position as the chairman, all of Microsoft’s products, its services and support systems in India will be monitored by him. Though his main objective as Microsoft India’s new chairman would be to transform the company and to make it capable of being the leading platform and productivity brand for mobile and cloud –first era, he will try his best to achieve other subsidiary goals too.

Jean-Philippe Courtois, the president of Microsoft’s Global Sales, Marketing & Operations said,

I am delighted to announce that Anant is joining Microsoft India. As we continue to transform as an organization and to support our customers’ digital transformation, Anant’s leadership will be pivotal to our continued growth. Our mission at Microsoft – which we all care deeply about – is to enable every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. I know that in India, Anant will help us to continue to deliver against this, in one of the most vibrant, diverse and exciting markets anywhere in the world.”

He further added that,

“I would also like to acknowledge the contributions made by Bhaskar Pramanik, who has been an inspiring leader of Microsoft India over the past five years. He’s worked closely with our customers, employees, partners and government stakeholders, and has been a truly passionate supporter of Digital India initiatives. In the coming months before he retires, I know he will work side by side with Anant, to ensure we have a smooth transition of leadership and continue to drive our business forwards.”

Before moving on with this new milestone of this career, Anant Maheshwari has been an integreal part of Honeywell for more than 12 years and prior to this he was in McKinsey & Co. for six years. At both these places he brilliantly proved his mettle as a knowledgeable global technology leader.
