Anil Ambani turns 59 years old. Here are some facts about the business magnate you’d want to know!

Business magnate Anil Ambani is a name known to all. Currently chairing the Reliance Group after its demerger from the Reliance Industries Limited, Anil is known for his investments in companies like Reliance Capital, Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Power and Reliance Communications. He is a wealthy man with a net worth of 220- crores, as of 2016 Forbes list.

Brother of India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, Anil looks like a generous and thoughtful businessman who is more lifeward than money-minded. The businessman has stood for people and supported them out of his way. Recently, it was on February 25 when Sridevi died in Dubai, that Anil had sent a private charter to get the actress’s body back to the country.

Anil pursued his Masters in Business Administration at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Married to former Bollywood actress Tina Ambani, he is blessed with two energetic sons namely Anshul and Anmol. Anil has two sister siblings namely Nina Kothari, Deepti Salgaonkar and brother sibling needless to be named – Mukesh Ambani.

Anil has been conferred with ‘Businessman of the Year 1997’ award by India’s leading business magazine Business India, December 1998. He was also voted ‘the Businessman of the Year’ in a poll conducted by The Times of India. In 2004, he was felicitated with ‘the CEO of the Year 2004’ in the Platts Global Energy Awards. He was also included in the ‘Leaders of the Millennium in Business and Finance’.

Evidently, Anil is highly inclined towards the entertainment industry. He made an acquisition of a majority stake in Adlabs Films in 2005. The company was later renamed as Reliance MediaWorks in 2009. On an overall front, Anil has made investments and is running businesses like Telecom, Entertainment, Financial Services, Power and Infrastructure.

He is also popularly known for the IPO of his company – Reliance Power. This is till date, the fastest subscribed IPO of all time in the Indian market.
