Lately there have been many obstacles coming in scheduling the IPL-9 matches in the country. The drought like conditions in Maharashtra, Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants were ordered by the state High Court to select alternative home grounds. Following the orders and out of the options given by the BCCI(Board of Cricket Council of India), Mumbai and Pune team selected Jaipur and Visakhapatnam respectively. Though where on one hand Pune have got the confirmation and permission for their selected ground, Mumbai Indians is still stuck with the alternative ground as Rajasthan is also under drought threat.

Well, keeping in mind the issues being faced, the BCCI secretary, Anurag Thakur, in his latest interview said, “BCCI has become a punching bag and the rise in public interest litigations in courts against IPL has led to huge losses. The board has suffered and teams have suffered due to cancellation of air tickets and hotel bookings. TV crews are being shifted around to new venues. Something or the other keeps coming up. It is becoming a logistical nightmare. We have to find a solution… the IPL’s governing council will meet soon to decide on the ideal venue for season-10.”

If that happens, this would not be the first time IPL would go out of the country. In 2009 due to the general elections, IPL was organised in South Africa.
