Today, Buying a two wheeler will be cake walk. Two-wheeler giants Hero MotoCorp, HMSI, Suzuki Motorcycle and Bajaj Auto are showering attractive discounts to lure the buyers. They are highlighting their BS-III model with this as Supreme Court has put a ban on the sale and registration of these vehicles from April 1.
The discount offers are with whopping amount of Rs. 22,000. Their main motive is to liquidate the stocks in a day.
Out of total of 8 lakh vehicles, which come under BS-III category, 6.71 lakh comes into two wheeler category. Dealers are eager to sell out the vehicle and have told PTI their prompt attempt is to sell out the maximum number of vehicles possible. For this, they have come with some “unheard of discounts” for these vehicles.
Earlier, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India offered a flat reduction of Rs. 10,000 on BS-III scooters and now they have increased it to Rs. 22,000.
Honda Activa 3G which is priced at Rs. 50,290, Dream Yuga is priced at Rs. 51,741, CB Shine is priced at Rs. 55,799 and CD 110DX is priced at Rs. 47,202.
Market leader Hero MotoCorp is offering whooping discounts till Rs. 12,500 on BS-III two wheeler vehicles.
The dealers were even asked that what actions they are taking after this court verdict, he mentioned, “Our energy is focused on selling as much stock as possible before the
deadline. Our people are calling up potential customers informing them about the offers.”
If we talk about commercial vehicles, Ashok Leyland is not upto any discount offers.
They explain it like, “Our products are in good demand and we will not be offering any price discounts”.
Mahindra & Mahindra mentioned it is working on many options to work inside the framework by the court order.
It is “even trying to liquidate as much of the company’s and its dealers’ BS III inventory as possible by 31 March, 2017 and will make every attempt to minimise the one time impact of this order on the company’s financials” without mentioning any details.
