Chennai Police Put A Halt To The Super Cars’ Spunky Racings On East Coast Road

Sunday came as not less than jinx for some super cars like Ferrari, Porsche and Audi in Chennai. Chennai police put a halt on these luxury segment cars drives after reckless driving of some disobliging drivers.

The one road stretch that attracts them is East Coast Road starting from North Chennai to Karaikal. It covers Spots like Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry which makes it an irreplaceable getaway spot. On top of it, the road does not accommodate much of usual traffic. Given that, the road makes a way for spunky drivers who usually plan for their weekend escapade to Pondicherry or to Mahabalipuram.  These cars racing arrangements have not left the incidents of numerous car accidents behind.

Chennai police took this sensitive matter into consideration and catering to numerous complaints on this. Thus they have plucked the check posts and check points on roads. This is to put a halt to the overbearing enthusiasm of speedy drivers.

Even after putting these check posts, on Sunday morning, some supercars ignored the waves of barricades and fled away. They soon were caught at the next stop which is near Uthandi. These cars included Ferrari 480 Spyder, BMW X6. Porsche Carrera 911,  Audi TT8 and Land Rover Discovery and Lamborghini Gallardo, Lamborghini Aventador.

After police started the interrogation and put questions on the fast drivers, one of them denied the news of running away. On top of it, the required registration papers were not shown to the Police. In fact they refused to give handover of these vehicles and said it needs training to drive them. They were made wait outside Uthandi by the police which served as a luxury showcase to the passerby.

With the mounting crowd and rush, they moved the cars to Kanagaraj police station. These cars make a total cost estimation of up to Rs. 30 crore.
