Daredevil’s back Bencher in New Avatar of Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister

Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister

The 26 years old Tejaswi Pratap Yadav is son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, on Friday Tejaswi sworn for the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. He will now serve as Nitish Kumar’s number two, which is very obvious to everyone of us, but it is not the first time that this young politician made a name for himself. As Tejaswi has also tried his luck in cricket and was part of Delhi Daredevils consecutively for 4 seasons.

However, in cricket Tejaswi did not have a chance to show up his playing skill, as unfortunately never became part of playing eleven for the franchise. He debuted in cricket playing against Vidharba in 2009 and settled out on a mere score of 1 & 19 runs, prior to this he was part of U-19 team of Delhi, was selected to play Ranji Trophy for Jharkhand.

The middle-order batsmen played four T20 matches, but consecutively failed to impress score board with his innings. He batted once and scored three runs, whereas in bowling as well failed miserably after conceded runs with economy of 8.33 runs per over.

It is therefore a big surprise to see Tejaswi in outfits of Delhi Daredevil in Indian Premier League. The player anyhow showed enough courtesy and team spirit in front of mic in saying that “it’s about the right team combination and there are so many other good all-rounder.”

The cricketing career of Tejaswi failed miserably at a very initial point, but has got a sensational start to his political career. We hoped that the young politician has charged himself to address the administrative problems of Bihar. It will also be interesting to see Tejaswi’s stand on Bihar Cricket Association’s (BCA) affiliation, as state is out from Ranji Trophy from past 14 years and Jharkhand Cricket Association got the recognition.
