Khali severly injured in wrestling

Who is not aware of The Great Khali, the Indian boxer/fighter who made it big internationally? He was titled as the World Heavyweight Champion in 2007. He is one of the most celebrated powerlifter of the country. Dilip Singh Rana popularly known by his ring name ‘The Great Khali’ has once again made headline, certainly not for any good reason.

The wrestler got injured severely in a wrestling match at Haldwani as a part of the promotion. To promote his wrestling competition ‘Continental Wrestling Entertainment’ (CWE), he participated in a wrestling competition against the foreign wrestlers, Mike Knox and Brody Steel. Initially the match was in favor of Khali as he was able to fight against the two. But eventually both of them collaborated to clobber down the giant Khali.

The wrestlers shut him down by bashing him with a chair. Khali got severe head injuries and was immediately taken to the ICU at a nearby hospital. Due to lack of facilities at the local hospital in Haldwani, Khali was airlifted to Dehradun.  Where on one hand the nation prayed for his good health, he received 7 stitches due to head injuries and also whined about his chest and back pain. Report says that the wrestler might be shifted to Delhi for his further treatment.

The 43 year old wrestler is reportedly well but has been kept in hospital for observations by the doctors. Surender Rana, the younger brother of Khali said, “He is fine now. Yes he was hit in the head and chest during the event in Haldwani but luckily the situation is not bad. My brother was with him at the time and I am headed to Dehradun as well.”

He has his next event scheduled on 28th of February 2016 in Dehradun but the chances of being a part of the event depend on his recovery from the injuries.
