Launch of Green Smart Farms and Expert Advise for Farmers, GRAM KOTA DAY 1 was a Power-Packed event

GRAM 2017 Kota has become the talk of the country as it has rendered immense benefit to the largest community of India-farmers.

Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu along with Chief Minister Smt. Raje inaugurated GRAM 2017 Kota event at RAC ground in Kota on Wednesday.

Naidu gave huge impetus to increasing farmer’s revenue. Naidu said that the Center and the State Government will focus on four ‘I’ i.e. Irrigation, Infrastructure, lower Interest rates and Insurance. This will buttress the aim to double the income of farmers by 2022. GRAM Kota will take this forward, Naidu said.

The GRAM-2017 of Kota will help farmers to learn about new techniques, instruments, irrigation, modernisation, high productivity with low input, crop cycles, agro-processing methods and other innovations in the agriculture sector, Naidu said.

CM Raje informed that a battery of portals has been opened to provide facilities to farmers. Portals like Crop Insurance Portal, Crop Cutting Experiment App and Girdavari App have been launched to facilitate farmers.

Jajam Baithaks (AgriClinics) were organized after the inaugural event. A couple of inspirational seminars followed thereafter. The first seminar was themed as: Cultivating opportunities through 4 Ws of Kota Agriculture (Warehouse, Water Availability, Women Empowerment, Workforce Development) while the second seminar was Agricultural abundance of Kota: Strengths and Prospects. GRAM Kota 2017 hosted a beautiful cultural night which was as mesmerizing as classic.

Crop Loans and subsidies from Government

The government is providing crop loan at a lower rate of 7.1 percent. Moreover, the government had distributed crop loans worth Rs. 15,000 crores to around 25 lakh farmers.

45 lakh soil health cards have been distributed to farmers in the last three years, CM Raje said. This figure is expected to cross the limit of 70 lakh till July.

“If any farmer is desirous of setting up the agro-processing unit with an investment of Rs. 40 lakh, the government is ready to provide subsidies of up to Rs. 20 lakh,” CM Raje said. On advancing organic farming in the state, CM Raje added, “Organic farming fetches higher prices and also boasts of more nutritive value.”

All in all GRAM Kota 2017 has made all farmers wanting for more. The new Rajasthan is already eyeing on GRAM 2018 now.
