Harmanpreet Kaur,  the Indian vice Captain, and the 28-year-old batter smashed an unbeaten 171 off just 115 balls leaving the Australian bowlers in a shock to help India reach the final of the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

It was out of the world power hitting performance by the girl, something that has made her a stand out player for India.  The milestone from 51 to 100 was reached in 26 balls while she raced to 150 from 101 in mere 17 balls. Harmanpreet’s third ODI century was embellished with 20 fours and as many as 7 sixes.

The innings could well be termed as the best ever played by Indian women in the limited over cricket. This is also the second highest individual score in ODI’s for India behind Deepti Sharma’s 188 not out against South Africa earlier this year.

The Mithali Raj led team  India will meet  England at Lord’s on Sunday in their first 50 over final since 2005, looking to secure their first women’s ICC Trophy. She’s put India in the final after a gap of 12 years.

Kaur is a clean ball striker who in her own words has aggression in her genes.  She was the first Indian cricketer to earn an overseas franchise Twenty-20 place when she won a contract with Sydney Thunder in the WBBL (Women’s Big Bash league).

The best cricketers in the country Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh and Kapil Dev led from the front to express kind words for Harmanpreet.

Here’s a powerful message for the people of the nation – girls must be empowered, shouldn’t be killed in the womb. The way Harmanpreet made the country proud; other girls should also be encouraged to move forward and make the nation proud.

We wish Harmanpreet best of luck for her further excel. We hope the Indian Women’s Cricket team wins the world cup and makes the nation proud.
