India’s First Desi Power Fuel To Fill Up Luxury Cars In Bengaluru

The domestic market of India is boasting about bringing a high-quality fuel with better performance which will target to fuel the elite vehicle range of Porsche, BMW and Lamborghini. The premium quality fuel will have very high octane rating which will be marked up to 99, which makes it ideal for high performance cars.

The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation which is run by the state will be bringing “poWer 99” into introduction which will serve the basis as domestic high end fuel. Starting from Bengaluru, the service will be stretched out to other cities as well in just few weeks.

As per the experts corner, fuels with higher octane energy are less prone to uncontrolled ignition or we can say auto-ignition. This suggests that they require increasing amounts of activation energy.


As Indian market is elevating in terms if high end cars, this domestic high end fuel will act as an important aid. HPCLBSE data says that, cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurugram and Chandigarh ranks very high in luxury bikes and cars. The fuel with upgraded qualities can deal very well with the high temperatures at the time of compression stroke in an internal combustion engine avoiding auto-igniting issues. This allows in extra power for the vehicles’ performance and also assist the luxury bikes which need very high-octane green petrol for maximum performance.

Vikram Kirloskar, Toyota vice-chairman mentioned, “There is certainly a market for such vehicles, and it is growing. There is a need for such fuels. So long as they come in with local specifications, they are good for the market and the environment.“
The very first spot where this wonder fuel will be available is HPCL outlet in Murugeshpalya, Old Airport Road. The regional manager of HPCL Subhankar Dutta mentioned, “Bengaluru has about 300 high-end cars. There is a demand for superbikes like Duke and Harleys. We will launch the product here, and in other metros later.Until now, India has had an octane rate of 97, offered by BPCLBSE -0.43 %, and Shell’s octane rating is a tad less.“
