Mahatma Gandhi Emoji to be rolled out by Twitter India on 2nd October

This is a great tribute to Father of the Nation on his birth anniversary. To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bapu, Twitter India has rolled out a new ‘Gandhi Emoji’ on October 2, this year. As per the statement Twitter India, the Gandhiji emoji will go live on October 2, will remain active through the week. Get the details.

Hashtags to use for Gandhi Emoji
When a user makes use of the following given hashtags on Twitter, the ‘Gandhi Emoji’ will appear:
#GandhiJayanti, #MKGandhi, #BapuAt150, #MahatmaGandhi, #MyGandhigiri, #MahatmaAt150, #NexusOfGood, #गाँधीजयंती, and #ગાંધીજયંતિ.

Talking about the emoticon, it has a caricature of Mahatma Gandhi with the blue and white colours in the backdrop. These two are the official colours of Twitter.

Born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi had played a major role in leading India to Independence. He was born on 2nd October in 1869 at Porbander, Gujarat. His birth anniversary i.e. October 2 is fondly celebrated across the country. He had held major movements for India’s freedom like Dandi Salt March, Quit India and non-cooperation movement. He was a significant political figure and thinker who had shown the world the power of peace and non-violence.
