Mary Kom has again written the glorious chapter of her life with the fifth gold medal won at the Asian women’s boxing championships. She is 34 and kicked off her career in the ring again. Although she had not won any medal from long so this is a great comeback for her. Perhaps, it was thought that she had dropped her gloves. But her victory at the Asian women’s boxing championships in Ho Chi Minh City says a new story.
She had not won any Gold medal after Incheon Games held on year 2014. Mary Kom had been fighting in the 51 kg category for the past three years. The decision to returning to her favoured 48kg category proved right as it’s her first international championship in the new weight class. She won the medal by beating Kim Hyang Hi of North Korea with 5-0.
