Mass Cheating reported in Jharkhand Colleges

“What goes around, comes around”

It is a very famous proverb which suits to the current condition of Jharkhand where a matter of mass cheating has been reported. It is a source of embarrassment Jharkhand as their Chief Minister, Raghubar Das had formed a complete fuss and fired a salvo at the neighboring state of Bihar over the merit scam. Talking about the Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) scam, Das had commented on June 27 that students of the neighboring state could save their career and credibility by studying in the ‘education hub’ Jharkhand.

The origin of the issue was due to a picture of R.S. More College in Dhanbad, where the students can be seen cheating while their class 11 exams were being conducted on 9th July. More than 100 students could be seen sitting close to each other and using unfair means in the exam while writing their paper. “There is no space in the college, that’s why we are sitting outside. All the seats have been occupied,” said one of the examinees. The authorities of college have stated that there is not enough space in the college to accommodate all the students. One of the college professors, Manoranjan Gupta said that “I cannot see anyone cheating. The students are honestly giving their examination. The capacity of the college is not much. Two students should sit on one bench, but as of now, four to five students have to adjust on one bench. It is a congested place”.

This is not the only one topic to be worried about; the students could also be seen sitting with bags and mobile phones during their examination. It is widely known that the Bihar Scam resulted in the arrest of BSEB chief Lalkeshwar Singh and his wife along with several others. This Merit scam was highlighted when the media interviewed the toppers and they were clueless about the subjects they topped. Meanwhile, scrutiny is conducted on the matter of Jharkhand College. We could just hope that there are no more Ruby Rai and Saurabh Kumar in the country as it is showcasing the loopholes in the education system of the country one by one.
