Chhota Rajan most wanted criminal involved in around 17 murders and several other cases of Drug Trafficking, Extortion and Arm Smuggling, arrested on Sunday 25th October from Indonesia. However the plan of arresting this crime addict was not shared with Mumbai police, says media reports.
The 55 years old Rajan was caught from Resort Island in Bali where he was reported to be arriving from Sydney. The task was executed by Indian Security Agencies, primarily CBI and Australian and Indonesian Police.
Rajan who was earlier recognized as key aide and lieutenant of Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim, presently emerged as biggest rival of Dawood. Rajan being on the list of most wanted criminals of India, dodged from police in numerous countries over past two decades.
Now, after the arrest of Rajan, questions surrounds that was it a safety call of Rajan residing in Indian prisons to get-away from Dawood, who has made several attempts in past with the aim of killing his former aide.
On the other hand media reports say that arrest could be a sign of Anti-Dawood operations, planned by the security agencies. Whereas Rajan, would be questioned about Dawood and his present status like where is he residing and activities of ‘D-Gang’.
In among the several murder cases registered against Chhota Rajan, strongest among them was registered in Mumbai, which shows Rajan’s involvement in killing senior crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey better known as J.Dey, killed in year 2011.
It is just a matter of coincidence that last time when Mumbai police arrested Chhota Rajan in Bangkok, when he survived assassination attempt of Dawood’s men. However, he successfully escaped from heavily-guarded hospital. And on this occasion also he is suffering from bad health and hospitalized.
Rajan’s aide informed that was helped by Indian officials, but there is no confirmation on this verdict by the Police Department or any other responsible officials.
Rajan also had attempted to kill his rival Dawood Ibrahim in 2005, when Dawood’s daughter was getting married to Pakistani cricketer Javed Miyadad, but failed in his attempt.
