Former Indian Minister of external affairs, Sushma Swaraj took her last breath in AIIMS on Tuesday night after suffering a fatal heart attack. The beloved women leader was famous for her devoted and honest service. Her exemplary life is an inspiration for all leaders and she will be remembered for the service she has done to the nation.

After the news, many political leaders paid tribute to the deceased soul. PM Narendra Modi tweeted “Sushma Ji’s demise is a personal loss. She will be remembered fondly for everything that she’s done for India. My thoughts are with her family, supporters and admirers in this very unfortunate hour. Om Shanti.”

India and the rest of the world are all saddened and shocked by the sad demise of a hard-working and prolific leader. The exemplary leadership she displayed is worth inspiring. Here’s what Dalai Lama said on Sushmita Swaraj: “I offer my prayers & my condolences at this difficult time. Sushma Swaraj enjoyed immense respect for her compassionate concern for people&her friendly demeanour. In devoting herself to service of others, she led a very meaningful life”

Mortal remains of the former full-time woman foreign minister were taken to the Lodhi crematorium in Delhi. Her Daughter, Bansuri performed the last rites while paying the last tribute to her beloved mother. Hon’ble Sushmita Swaraj was wrapped in tricolour and paid a formal tribute by BJP leaders.

“Extraordinary woman and leader who devoted her life to public service,” UN General Assembly President Maria Fernanda Espinosa expressed their condolences.
