It’s important to note that just recently; the Supreme Court stayed the ban by all four states namely Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana. Basically, the court gave the film a green signal for a country-wide release. However, this decision didn’t go down well with the Karni Sena and Rajput Community who are still not ready to let the film release.

Last month, there were reports of threats aimed at beheading Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone. This time again, some members of the Rajput Community have threatened to bury them alive. In such a scenario, the teaser which talks about the greatest defeat of Allauddin Khilji and the courage of the women of Chittorgarh, it has in a way signaled that the film is only putting the Rajput Community at a higher level with respect and dignity.

As of now, the film is slated to hit the theatres in all states on 25th January 2018 and is likely to get a solo release. Padmaavat, which was earlier named Padmavati, stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor as Rani Padmini, Allauddin Khilji, and Raja Ratan Singh, respectively.
