When the whole country is taking the terrorism issue and Indian reaction of surgical strike is all the world is talking about, Indian Prime Minister is not only focused on Pakistan, he is also taking other developmental issues seriously and doing everything he can for the development and growth of the country. Our PM Modi is all dedicated to fulfil his promise of a shinier and proposer India. In the lieu, PM Modi is all set to inaugurate India Sanitation Conference today. The inauguration is ahead of the second anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission on Sunday this week by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

PM Modi will address Chief Ministers of various states, including ministers, elected representatives of people, various district collectors municipal commissioners of 500 AMRUT cities and other stakeholders in New Delhi today. It would be the launch event of day-long INDOSAN (India Sanitation Conference) where the working and progress of Swacch Bharat Mission in the last two years would be discussed with state authorities.

As the inaugural session will continue, Urban Development Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu and Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will co-chair on a debate discussion as a plenary sessions on ‘Behavioral Change’ -Aspects of Swachh Bharat Mission’.

The debate session would be later followed by a chair-session on ‘Inter-Ministerial Cooperation’ headed by Cabinet Secretary P.K. Sinha. There will be altogether six thematic sessions on various aspects of Swachh Bharat Mission. Sources also confirmed that Prime Minister Modi including various other leaders and participants would a sign a declaration reiterating the country’s commitment to ensure Open Defecation on Free and Clean India.

There are altogether eleven individuals and organisations who have made contributions towards the Swacch Bharat Mission. Their teams worked really hard for generating awareness about sanitation and cleanliness in the country. Also, they motivated people to keep their home, surroundings and city clean, Therefore, these organisations would be honoured during the conference.

Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched “Swacch Bharat Mission” on October 2, 2014 which envisages a dream of Clean India by the end of October 2, 2019. It is a coincidence that 2nd October, 2019 would be the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

We hope that PM succeeds in his mission but we as a part of society would also have to make sure that we play our part in the cleanliness of our country.
