21 June is International Yoga Day. It is the fourth year of celebration since its inception in 2015. Many celebs have made yoga an indispensable part of their lives including PM Narendra Modi. While addressing the event, PM Modi said, “Yoga has emerged as the biggest unifying force in the world.” He also said that in fats changing world, yoga gives people peace. It binds their mind, body and soul. PM reached the venue around 6:30 am and performed yoga along with those gathered there.
Indian PM also urged people to do yoga through his tweet. He asked people to embrace yoga and get rid of non-communicable diseases, stress and lifestyle related ailments. He asked youth to teach yoga to others and create a healthy planet.
For attending the International Yoga Day celebrations, PM arrived in Dehradun late last evening and welcomed by Uttarakhand Governor Krishna Kant Paul, Chief Minister TS Rawat and other leaders and officials.
Like PM, many other union ministers have also attended yoga programs at various places across India. Yoga day celebrations held at various places like Airports Authority of India in Delhi, the premises of Nepal Police Academy, Guwahati’s Kamakhya temple, US Embassy in Delhi, in cold desert of Ladakh, Raj Bhawan in Lucknow and many other places. In fact, commoners and celebrities also shared their videos and images performing yoga. Check out the images.
