Rajasthan DigiFest 2017: Udaipur Hosts India’s biggest Hackathon

The two-day long Digifest event has kicked off in Udaipur city with the theme of ‘Hackathon 3.0’. It’s a 24-hour long coding program where students and coders have assembled to develop tech solutions for Rajasthan government’s flagship schemes.

The two-day long Digifest event has kicked off in Udaipur city with the theme of ‘Hackathon 3.0’. It’s a 24-hour long coding program where students and coders have assembled to develop tech solutions for Rajasthan government’s flagship schemes.

In the event, more than 1500 designers, developers, coders, inventors, and creators have assembled to showcase their innovative work. It’s a valuable platform for coders from IT and e-commerce. The participants are working to offer digital and sustainable solutions on the following themes:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Augmented/Virtual Reality
  • Blockchain
  • Internet of Things
  • Big Data
  • Bioinformatics
  • Bhamashah
  • Tourism
  • E-Mitra

Some of the notable projects that students are working upon in the hackathon include the following:

  • A team from Delhi named White Butter (led by Hitesh) is working on a virtual tour and Virtual guide for Rajasthan tourist places.
  • A team named Secret Eye (led by Nimisha) is working on computer protection software for the middle class
  • Techie’s Team (led by Piyush Bhargav) is working on smart toll system that will relieve people from waiting in long queues at the toll tax.
  • Dream Team (led by Akshay) is working on Home Automation project
  • Code Abode (led by Guarang) is preparing a model that can find cracks on railway lines.

DigiFest 2017

The top 3 teams who emerge as winners in the end of the Hackathon will be incubated by the government in the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoITC). Teams securing first, second, and third place will earn a contract to work in projects worth INR 15 Lakhs, INR 10 Lakhs, and INR 7.5 Lakhs. The event will go on until 3rd December 2017. On the concluding day, people from the corporate world including startups will be speaking on the importance of technology and how it creates an impact on our lives.
