Anandpal Case Breaking: With Rajasthan Government’s Intervention, Rajputs Withdraw Protests!

Despite Support from the Royals and a few Provocative Leaders, Rajasthan Rajputs withdraw Protests after the Government agreed to their demands…

The deep-rooted caste system has always been a sensitive issue in Rajasthan. Promoting the interests of one’s caste is acceptable, but the way the royal families of Rajasthan and a few politicians crossed the social lines for ‘bringing justice’ to notorious gangster Anandpal Singh, took the caste-issue to an entirely new level. Thankfully, with the intervention of Rajasthan government, the matter was solved, before the atmosphere could turn more hostile. After a meeting with Rajasthan cabinet ministers Gulabchand Kataria, Rajendra Rathore and BJP MLA Ashok Parnami, the Rajput community decided to withdraw their protests in Anandpal’s case.

Knowing that Rajasthan assembly elections are due next year, a few opposition leaders took this opportunity to whet the Rajputs against Rajasthan government. Just recently, Congress leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas announced a compensation of Rs 51,000 to Anandpal’s family, which by the way, owns property worth Rs 300 crores. A majority of Singh’s assets were amassed allegedly through kidnapping and extortion. Regardless, Khachariyawas deemed it suitable to support the criminal for the sake of a few votes!

Rani Padmini Devi’s circular added fuel to the fire! Overlooking Sanvrad violence that occurred on Anand pal’s Condolence Meet, Rani Padmini Devi of Jaipur issued a circular, favoring the Rajput and Ravana community members. The queen was sympathetic towards the Rajputs that were allegedly beaten up by the cops who were trying to suppress violence, disregarding the way the Protestants torched police vehicles and assaulted a female IPS officer.

Thankfully, Rajasthan Government Saved the Day!

Adopting a positive approach towards the situation, Rajasthan government representatives agreed to the ‘acceptable’ demands of Anandpal’s family:

  • The government will recommend Anandpal’s case to the CBI for further investigation.
  • Commando Sohan Singh’s family will be allowed to visit him in Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon.
  • The police and the government will extend full support to the Rajput communities and conduct unbiased proceedings.
  • Nobody would prohibit Anandpal’s elder daughter Chinu aka Charanjeet Kanwar Singh from returning to Rajasthan.
  • Shrawan Singh, the alleged landlord of the property where Anandpal died is free from all charges.
  • Besides, the government will offer reasonable compensations to the victims of Sanvrad violence.
  • On the request of Anandpal’s family members, the government will provide them with a detailed postmortem report, within 24 hours of request.

After the announcements were formally made, the Rajput leaders expressed their gratitude towards the government. Welcoming the government’s decision, they agreed to withdraw their protests.
