He was the man behind the great struggle during Indo-china war in 1962 and an esteemed recipient of the Maha Vir Chakra. Mehra has teamed up with noted writer Kamlesh Pandey for this future venture of his.

The idea was encapsulated by Sanjay Khanduri, director of “Ek Chalis Ki Last Local” and now Mehra is giving it all the fire it needs in order to transform it from an idea into a real project. It’s been two years since Sanjay Khanduri and Kamlesh Pandey have engrossed themselves in thorough research regarding Rawat and his life. They’ve duly taken permission from Rawat’s family and Indian Army to move further with this project which will only let the world know what a hero he was.

Pandey told the media that, “The story of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat is amazing. The 1962 Indo-China war holds an important part in history and Rawat gave his life for the country. These young soldiers fought against all the odds be it weather, equipments and saved our lives. We felt his story needs to be told to everyone,” He also added, “There are some soldiers who worked with him (Rawat) are still alive and we are going to meet them to get some more information about him. We are taking help from Army and his family. They are supporting us completely in getting information from the achieves”

Pandey said, “We have already written one draft but we are still getting things perfect. Until and unless we are not happy with the final version we won’t go on floors soon,” The cast remains to be sorted but the shooting might start by the end of this year as much of the research is complete.
