Reign of brutality and bloodshed in Kashmir – Burhan Muzzafar Wani killing

A situation of chaos and rampage has gripped the state of Jammu and Kashmir succeeding to the death of a terrorist of Hizbul Muzahideen even after 3 days. The number of deaths has risen up to 11 and over 150 injured during the furious protesting of the masses. The normal life of Kashmiri’s has remained hampered even on the third day because of the disturbance in the valley. Regions of Anantnag, Pulwama and Kulgam were the most affected areas where the protesters have spilled onto the streets with anger.

The Government has fielded two of the top J&K police officials to control the situation and clamped curfew in the large parts of Kashmir. Also, the Amarnath Yatra have to remain suspended on the consecutive third day as it begins from Jammu. Several politicians including Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have condemned the deaths and appealed the residents to remain calm and maintain peace in the valley. The erupting violence due to the clashes between protesters and security forces have injured above 50 on Sunday evening. The ADGP(CID) of J&K police, S M Sahai have evaluated the situation being bad in certain segments only and under control in areas like North Kashmir and Srinagar. He added that the militants are using the crowds to superimpose their attacks which could result in many young lives being lost, so, he personally appealed the parents to restrict their children from participating in such protesting crowds.

Various sorts of retaliatory actions were taken by the military forces to handle the volatile situation. These clashes resulted in the non-operation of shops, offices and businesses establishments being shut including petrol pumps. Also, the public transport was completely called off in the areas of disturbance.
