“Right to Family” for orphans by Vasundhara Raje Government under “Palanhar Scheme”

“We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love”

This line of Mother Teresa is true in every sense. We cannot give everything to everyone but one thing which is in abundance on our planet is love and affection. There are no charges for it and the best thing about it is the more you share your care, the more it will multiply and come back to you. There are very few people left in this world who believe in living life for others and consider the right use of it. When you speak kind words and show affectionate gesture to the people who greed for it, their echoes is endless and they leave a never forgetting experience on the soul of those people.

On the same ideology, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan is working to help and overcome the struggles of the life of kids who doesn’t have a shelter to go to. The Rajasthan’s State Social Welfare department under the direction of CM Vasundhara Raje has initiated a scheme to provide a family atmosphere to the kids in Rajasthan who have lost their parents. The growing orphans living in state-run orphanages will be the beneficiaries of the scheme. It will be named PALANHAR and all interested families, issueless couples or relatives of all orphaned children are encouraged to take the responsibility of raising them and the Government would make sure that receive an honorarium in return of their love and affection to those orphans.

The CM has time and again proved that she feel for each and every citizen of this country and Rajasthan. She initiated various schemes for the education of girl child along with empowering the woman to become the head of the family through BHAMASHAH scheme. Yet again, she shows her motherly attitude towards the orphan kids of the society so that the orphans can receive the education and care that they deserve. CM Raje believes that “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one”.

Previously also, CM took an initiative by opening state-run orphanages but it didn’t get connected to the masses. So, the social welfare department with the guidance of Vasundhara Raje decided to introduce a new scheme for the ones who have lost their parents. She is trying to lay a foundation of those homeless kids in a remarkable way by infusing new energy in them.

As per the provisions of the scheme described by Social Welfare Minister Madan Dilawar, each family who takes the responsibility for raising an orphaned child would be given a grant of Rs 675 per month and an additional monetary help of Rs 2,000 every year.

CM is of the view that this would encourage the families who are willing to raise children but do not take the responsibility because of the financial reasons.

As per the scheme, a preference would be given to the relatives and acquaintances of the child and each family would get the assistance till the child turns 18. Also, no family would be allowed to take more than two children and proper care would be taken to see to it that siblings don’t get separated.

Along with these monetary incentives, the Ministry would also monitor that each child gets his/her rights of:

  1. Right to Safe Environment
  2. Rights to Food
  3. Right to Healthcare
  4. Right to Education
  5. Right against Child marriage
  6. Right to liberty
  7. Right to be free from partiality
  8. Right to safety from Abuse
  9. Right to safety from suction and disregard
  10. Right to be Heard and Participate freely
  11. Right to Leisure and free time
  12. Right to Family life.

These initiatives are aimed to bring a positive ray of hope in the life of those children who have already lost their world. Ensuring them a bright future would ensure a prosperous Rajasthan. Also, people might see it as a politically oriented step of CM Vasundhara Raje but it surely comes from her heart with the affectionate feeling towards those children.
