The construction of the 150 km Ring Road project is proposed to connect the Ajmer Road to Agra Road.  Though the contractors were supposed to wrap up the project within 24 months, due to internal conflicts between the companies, the Jaipur ring road project was stalled. However, with NHAI’s involvement, things appear smoother than before.

The Jaipur ring road is a controlled access, wide expressway encircling the capital. Its design offers a maximum speed up to 120 km/hr. this expressway will have a 3 lane service roads on sides, an investor’s development corridor, and a 135m long R&R. this will help in reducing the travel time for local traffic as well as incoming road travelers. It will also provide quick and convenient access to heavy vehicles around the city road network.

As per the provisions of the memorandum of understanding that will be signed between the state government and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), this road will come under the National Highway after its construction.

After a long wait, the three-member settlement committee that was constituted to resolve the long awaited ring road dispute has finally submitted its report to the state government on Thursday.

The long pending project has been brought back on track. The final hurdle to hand over the project to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been finally cleared. This has raised hopes within the government.

According to the conditions of the agreement between NHAI and JDA, JDA will be provided with Rs 350 crore in 10 years for the commercial operation, by the highway authority of India. It would also provide 8% interest to the authority. It is also decided that NHAI will pay the liability of Rs 221 crore to banks.  This amount was taken by Sanjose Supreme as a loan to construct the 47-km Ring Road. However, the decision of NHAI paying the liability of Rs 221 crore to banks will be taken after the committee submits the reports as stated by the officials.

As per the announcement made the project would be completed in 15 months. Earlier the firm had to complete the work in 24 months. However, due to internal strife in the company, the project stands delayed. Now, the new deadline for the project is August 2018 as per the schedule set by the state government.

Considering the long list of benefits, it is not surprising at all that the government is putting intense efforts into the project. This project will boost infrastructure and road tourism economy of Jaipur.
