Its official: Shahrukh Khan replaces Amir Khan in Rakesh Sharma’s biopic. Here is why he did what he did!

Shahrukh Khan replaces Amir Khan in Rakesh Sharma’s biopic Salute. The reports have it that Amir Khan personally recommended the film to Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh accepted the role after having a final conversation with producer Siddhartha Roy Kapur.

As per rumours, Amir Khan has stopped taking acting assignments as he is busy working on Mahabharat, a project close to his heart. The actor was finalized as the lead actor in the much-anticipated biopic but perhaps it was meant for Shahrukh to take up the role.

ShahRukh is also currently working on an Anand L Rai film with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The actor’s also touting was ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. The film failed to rock the box offices. As far as Amir is concerned, Amir is currently engrossed with ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif.

Shahrukh’s adorable son AbRam has been unfailing catching eyeballs across the country and the world. Incidentally, he was recently performing at his school’s annual function on the song Swades, a Shahrukh’s film. Shahrukh was also present at the event and considering the doting father that he is, he sent flying kisses to AbRam and all other kids. Shahrukh was sitting next to Isha Ambani. AbRam is currently studying at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School.

Well, as far as Salute is concerned, we can’t wait to see the King of Romance essaying the role of an astronaut for the second time on screen. The actor played the role of a NASA engineer in Ashutosh Gowariker’s  Swades. Such sudden replacements of lead actors don’t come as a surprise in Bollywood, considering that it is a highly dynamic industry.

Produced by Siddhartha Roy Kapur and directed by Mahesh Mathai, Salute is expected to hit the theatres in early 2019. We are excited to see Shahrukh in the astronaut avatar.
