Shashank Manohar Ex BCCI president may return as the chief of Board

After the tragic demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya former BCCI president, the conclaves are opening their books for a person who can uphold the knob just like Dalmiya did. Shashank Manohar who seems all set for his second round as the chief of the board after he served as the President of the Board from 2008 to 2011.

It is reportedly been said that Shashank Manohar will be elected as the Chief of the Board in a meeting that will held on Oct 4 by a unanimous decision. After the hectic round of suggestions and parleys it has been rightly taken that the Nagpur lawyer may take the command back.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur in the capital on Tuesday said “Shashank Manohar is our consensus candidate”. He further added that the scrutiny of nominations will held on October 3. Shashnak Manohar has been the loyal critic of former BCCI president and current ICC chairman N.Shrinivavasan.

“The Supreme Court hearing on Srinivasan’s eligibility to attend BCCI meetings is slated for October 5, he will not be able to attend the election – but is not barred from casting his vote,” as said by Anurag Thakur.

Shashank Manohar who is a prominent lawyer is known as Mr. Clean in his cricket affair and has a reputation of impeccable decisive power. Before he made it as the President of BCCI, he had served the Virdabha Cricket Association.

In 2010, he suspended the IP commissioner Lalit Modi after he was imposed by financial misdeed.

The post of the BCCI president has been vacant from September 20 after Jagmohan Dalmiya passed away. As reported, Shashank Manohohar was resilient to come into the picture but lately the reports says that he is the most likeable person and  can became the candidate around whom the consensus was built.

Shashank Manohar is facing immense support from Thakur and former chief Sharad Pawar. He is also backed by a strong reputation by the Finanace Minister Arun Jaitley.
