Shiv Sena Ravindra Gaikwad barred from flying, travels in Rajdhani express

The ill-mannered Shiv Sena MP, Ravindra Gaikwad had to resort to a train journey after he was denied an Air-India flight twice.

On Tuesday afternoon, MP Ravindra Gaikwad finally boarded the Rajdhani Express to travel to Delhi.

Air India had deprived the MP of flight journeys post his violent and unscrupulous ways of dealing with the flight officials on his recent fligjht journey on Air India.

The state carrier, Air India revoked his Gaikwad’s Mumbai-Delhi ticket. Gaikwad tried to book his ticket from Hyderabad to Delhi. The carrier cancelled a ticket that ticket too.

“Now, we have issued directions to all our regional staff to check if he has booked more tickets. We will also enter his name in the online ticketing system so that whenever he tries to book a ticket, our staff gets a notification,” the official said.

“Gaikwad saheb had to attend the session and also take part in the joint meeting with the Civil Aviation Ministry on this issue. Hence it was imperative for him to be in Delhi. Since the airline was not allowing him, he had no option but to travel by train,” said a source privy to the issue.

Gaikwad travelled in the Coach no A3 of Rajdhani Express, which went via Mumbai Central station.

Not only Air India, six private airlines have barred Gaikwad from travelling on them.

Gaikwad chided the action of the flight carrier. The Shiv Sena MP is still unwilling to apologise for his actions.

Gaikwad booked his ticket a multiple number of times. He clinched desirable seats on the flight of Air India for more than three times. However, as soon as Air India realized that it is Gaikwad, the company cancelled his ticket.

“The MP had booked two tickets for Wednesday, Mumbai-Delhi and Hyderabad-Delhi and we cancelled them,” said an Air India spokesperson.
