Guiding principles for the higher civil services in the country
To ensure the growth of India, Sardar Patel had also put few guiding principles for the higher civil services in the country which are ‘empathy’, ‘efficiency’, ‘impartiality’ and ‘incorruptibility’. Taking empathy as a base, he had asked civil servants to formulate policy and programme by weighing all the pros and cons. Second is efficiency. This means to use knowledge for improving the services and transformed dull processes into efficient activity through innovative ideas. Talking about impartiality, he had asked to serve the citizens equally and focus on the underprivileged segments in society. The fourth principle is of incorruptibility. He asked that the civil servants must showcase integrity and don’t corrupt the system. They must never get into any act that distorts the image of the nation.
