Ironically it is now the doctors’ order for their workaholic patients to take vacations as these are the best medicines for their stress levels and there would be no need for them to visit any sort of clinics in future.

In fact the people, who don’t take vacationing breaks for good amount of years, tend to have 30% more chance of having heart attacks. A survey done on 14,000 people by University of Pittsburgh’s Mind-Body Center stated that “Vacations contributed to higher positive emotional levels and less depression, lower blood pressure and smaller waistlines.”

Surprisingly your vacation can give your personal life a double treat. Firstly, the anticipation related to a forthcoming holiday generates a flush of happy hormones and secondly, retrospection on the fun days after vacation ends, is like a mood healer.

“Because there are more ways that a future beach holiday might happen – more beaches one might visit, more sunsets one might see, more books one might read – than ways it did happen, people might experience more pleasure during anticipation of, than during retrospection about, beach holidays.”
