Right after returning from the 4-day evaluation tour of different areas of Rajasthan, the CM went on to take a look at the flood-hit areas of the state. She has expressed concern over the heavy rainfall which has hampered the everyday life of the people of Rajasthan. Looking onto the situation, she had directed the Water Resource Minister, Ram Pratap to take the necessary retaliatory actions and ensure that there is no further loss of life and property. All the required arrangements are to be made and checked so that the people don’t suffer more. She urged the local authorities of the flood affected region to remain alerted and try to get people a way out of the low-level areas.

It is to be noted that this monsoon has been very kind on Rajasthan. Some districts like Bhilwara and Chittorgarh are witnessing continuous heavy rainfall from past few days. It is very hard for people to go to work or to carry out their routine. The daily life of the people of these cities is hampered and there is a loss of property in the low-level areas.

Alarmed by the situation, CM Vasundhara Raje has directed the Indian Air Force helicopters to help the affected and suffering people in the cities of Chittorgarh and Bhilwara on August 8, 2016. The Air Force then came to the rescue of people and airlifted 16 people and transferred them to a safer place.

The Disaster Management and Assistance Department Secretary Rohit Kumar is keeping the continuous track of the situation and reporting it to CM every now and then. Also, the Disaster Management Minister Gulab Chand Kataria is continuously monitoring the movement of the rescue team and taking updates time-to-time.

CM Vasundhara Raje was on a 4-day tour of the state and was very concerned about the news of heavy rainfall in some regions of Rajasthan. Thus, she directed her team to update her into the matter and form various rescue teams which could help people in coping with the flood situation. Right after returning, CM went for the visit of these areas in a helicopter. She urged the authorities to remain prepared to handle any sort of situation and keep the relief and rescue teams ready. She directed the District Collector to review the danger mark of the rivers which are overflowing due to heavy rains and causing flood-like situation. Also th dams in the affected areas should be under scanning.

She also asked her team to make necessary arrangements for providing medical help to those people who are in need of it, so that the area doesn’t get caught in any sort of diseases. They should also be cautious in taking care of the people who have lost their shelter and properties due to this natural calamity and provide them with temporary shelter and food during this difficult time along with ensuring the proper water drainage ways in the water logged areas.
