Vijender Singh bags his sixth consecutive pro boxing fight by beating Andrzej Soldra of Poland

Our very own Vijender Singh, a bronze medallist in Olympics, has done it again and in fact more than five times again. This middle weight boxing champion has won his 6th consecutive win. The latest one was against Poland’s Andrzej Soldra.

Vijender kept hold of his opponent since the first round itself, though Soldra tried his best to catch up. Second round was similar to the first one where the Indian boxing champ didn’t let Soldra to overcome him at any moment.

Then came the third round, where Vijender unleashed back to back blows and punches which brought Soldra in a difficult position to make any sort of come back. It was the referee then who came for Soldra’s rescue.

Thus came out our fighter again with his 6th pro boxing fight. Being an Olympic bronze medallist, Vijender had won all his previous pro bouts.  His previous fight, which was against Frenchman Matiouze Royer, was the longest of his fledgling pro career, as it lasted for five rounds.

The one with Poland’s Soldra was Vijender Singh’s last fight before he makes his India debut next month. He will be fighting it out for the WBO Asia belt against a yet-to-be-named opponent in New Delhi on June 11.
