Indian IT industry is going through more arduous conditions than just the new introductions to H1B o visa bill. The new norms are quite impossible and hard to keep track with. An “End outsourcing Act” says that, the nation is thinking about employing more of their own talent rather than spending $130000 on the immigrants.
Apart from this, the 2007 bill has also been reintroduced by Dick Durbin and Chuck Grassley. This all has been done to keep a priority on their own talent and aims at restoring fairness in various visa programmes.
Grassley mentioned that, “Congress created these programmes to complement America’s high-skilled workforce, not replace it, ”
They are reasoning it out saying that American labours are getting comparatively low wages because of outsiders. The bill came into existence from January 20, which aims at preferring students who received the education in US.
In between this, on January 30th, Joe Donnelly introduced “End Outsourcing Act”.
The new norms in US legislation says that, any company hiring H1B visa holders or outsource the talent, will not be assisted with any sort subsidies. In addition to this, they may even asked to discontinue the business in US.
Brown mentioned in a statement that, ” We should encourage businesses to invest here and make sure tax-payer funded contracts are awarded to companies that employ American workers”.
While this is one factor, which is working in favour of American natives, the Indian students and employees who are stuck there are facing hard time. Most of them have burdens of giant education loans on their head which seems like an impossibility to get over from.
The Indian software giants like Wipro, Infosys, Tata consultancy and many other are lagging behind with Rs. 33,000 crore of loss in the market value. Indian government has shown no signs of concern in this matter yet.
