The popular telecom major company Bharti Airtel announced the launch of a new platform named Open Network on Tuesday. This network will show the users the status of its network coverage and quality map across the country. Bharti Airtel MD and CEO for India and South Asia, Gopal Vittal on the occasion said, “Airtel launches open network and with this initiative, we are establishing complete transparency with regard to our mobile network and opening ourselves to customer scrutiny and feedback. Airtel customers can now take charge of network issues and be part of the solution.”
Never has any telecom company taken such a step opening up all the network areas and the maps for the better coverage for the users. This is for the first time and first of its kind initiative. This new interface by the Airtel will show the network coverage and signal strength all over the country. Also it will show the development of the various network sites at different parts in India. This interface will be available for the users on the Airtel’s Website and myAirtel app. It will also tackle users poor network related issues.
“Open Network is a paradigm shift in the way we engage with our customers. With this initiative, we are establishing complete transparency with regards to our mobile network and opening ourselves to customer scrutiny and feedback. For us, the network experience is paramount and Airtel customers can now take charge of network issues and be a part of the solution, rather than waiting for it to happen.”said Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO of Bharti Airtel.
“In addition, customers can also contact the Airtel Call Centre or walk into any of the Airtel Flagship Stores across the country to report their network related issues. All Airtel call centres and Flagship Stores have been specially equipped with solutions based on the new interface to respond to network related issues,” said the statement by Gopal Vittal.
