It was during the match of Kings XI Punjab with Gujarat Lions that the cricketing world found its new star all-rounder named Axar Patel. This 22 year old young sparkling cricketer got his and the tournament’s first hat-trick on Sunday.
Axar started bowling in the 4th over of the match and gave in 6 runs. Later in the 6th over, the man sent three batsmen back to the pavilion one after the other. He started off by sending Dwayne Smith back with the 3rd ball. After this he bowled Dinesh Karthik with the 5th ball. Then the second target of his hat-trick pattern was when Dwayne Bravo dragged a quicker ball on to leg stump at Patels last ball of that over.
Then when he came back to bowl the 11th over, his soft target was Jadeja who edged and gave in to keeper Wriddhiman Saha which completed Patel’s hat-trick.
Kings XI Punjab has been doing great when it comes to striking hat-tricks. It was their third, with Yuvraj Singh and Piyush Mishra scoring two in the previous seasons.
Seeing his brilliant performance, Axar Patel has been selected India team’s ODI series in Bangladesh.
