BSNL to offer unlimited calling for Rs. 99, off-net for Rs. 339; strikingly counters Jio

BSNL Calling Plans offers unlimited calling

With Reliance Jio offering free calls and data-pack till March 31, all telecom operators have been  in utter discomfort. Ever since the on-set of Jio, sustenance of operators like Airtel, Aircel and BSNL has been at a constant risk.

On Dec16, Indian state-owned BSNL announced unlimited calling offer for its pre-paid customers along with limited free data usage to counter the stellar move by Reliance Jio.

At present, Reliance Jio is offering free 4G mobile service including calls and data till March 31. It has recorded 52 million customers in around 83 days.

The company’s statement said, “BSNL has introduced unlimited local and STD BSNL to BSNL with 300 MB data for only Rs. 99 with validity of 28 days for its prepaid mobile customers.”

The rate will be applicable in Kolkata, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Gujrat, MP, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra & Rajasthan for within network calls. Nonetheless, in other circles the offer will vary from Rs. 119 to 149.

According to the BSNL statement, “BSNL has also introduced new combo STV with Unlimited local and STD BSNL to any network with 1GB data for only Rs. 339 with validity of 28 days on pan-India basis.”

“Tariff offered by BSNL are most competitive and is committed to provide affordable and excellent services to our esteemed customers,” BSNL Director for Consumer Mobility RK Mittal said.

Quite recently, incumbent operators Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular attempted tough counters to withstand against free 4G service of Reliance Jio by launching two similar schemes offering free calls and limited mobile internet use. This service comes with a 28-days validity priced at around Rs. 150 and Rs. 350.

The much rumoured Reliance Jio’s proposed plan of Rs. 149 will last for 28 days, for calls to all network in the country for 28 days. What’s more? This encompasses no roaming charges. Moreover, this plan also offers 300 MB 4G data access during day plus unlimited usage at night. If this wasn’t enough, Jio will also provide free music, movie, TV, news and all other apps, video call, SMS service. .
