Chinese Leader Han Zheng on his official five day visit to India

Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party Secretary of Shanghai, Han Zheng, will be visiting India on the special invitation sent by the Indian External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj. Han Zheng would be on a five day visit during which he would be stopping by New Delhi, Bengaluru, Agra and Mumbai. This five day official visit to India falls under the exchange program between the International Department of the Communist Party of China and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

Recently at the Ministry of External Affairs’ media briefing, the spokesperson Vikas Swarup made the announcement and informing the media people said, “”He will meet Indian leaders and interact with a cross section of Indian political and business circles. It is expected that the interaction during his visit will contribute to further strengthening of the closer developmental partnership that was established during the important visit of President Xi Jinping to India in 2014.” He further added, “Following the institutionalisation and expansion of the MEAIDCPD during the landmark visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China in May 2015, this the highest level visit from China under this exchange programme. It helps enhance mutual understandings. Many senior leaders currently in China’s leadership have visited India under this programme.”

Also, The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi when visited Mongolia (China) last year said, “21st Century is Asia’s century. India & China should work together to encourage people to live life dedicated to human welfare.”
