Not just this, the most crucial controversy that has been attached to the show came when the cricketer turned politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu faced issues in his political career from within Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). There have been speculations from quite a few weeks that Siddhu would probably quit from BJP and form his own party for Punjab. So, his wife Navjot Kaur has confirmed that Siddhu has to make up his mind to create his own party in Punjab and completely focus on politics now. The news might be very cheerful for Siddhu followers in Punjab but it has made many fans all over the world saddened as the sets of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ on the Sony channel will no more echo with the iconic laughter of Navjot Singh Sidhu after September. He was surely an integral part of the show and was famous as the ‘Guru’ of laughter. The famous ‘Shayaris’ that he quoted between intervals of the show, made people his die-hard admirers and added an x-factor to the show. It would not be exaggerated if we call him the heart of the show.
The fans of the best every comedy show on Indian television till now are deeply saddened by this news as confirmed by Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur. according to her, Siddhu has already quitted the show and has completed his shoot for the month of September. The political gurus are considering his decision to be in the light for the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections. The former MP, who resigned from his post a few weeks back, is now planning for a steamed return in Punjab politics. As the sources have confirmed, he will reach Amritsar on October 1 to begin the campaigning for his new party, Awaz-e-Punjab.
“Sidhu will now completely focus on Punjab politics. And that is why he has recorded all the shows till 30th September and has already said goodbye to the cast,” as said by Sidhu’s wife. Reportedly, Sidhu’s contractual obligations with the hit comedy show have ended in September and thus his followers are expecting him to return in full throttle in Punjab politics.
As far as the cast of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ is concerned, Siddhu was surely like a family to them who have fought several odds during their journey, overcame an ugly public spat with a channel, and had still managed to go ahead with enhanced laughter dose for the entertainment of viewers. Fans are not happy to know this as a major share of all the giggles went to Siddhu because of his signature style of humour and shayaris.
It is sure that his absence on the big leather chair in the show can never be replaced by anyone and now with his adieu, not just the laughter show, but even the small TV screen will fall silent, at least for some time. It is to mention that people like Mika Singh have tried to imitate him on a rival show but failed miserably so undoubtedly, Sidhu’s aura is unmatchable. Though, he surely wishes him all the good luck for his second innings in politics and wants to tell him that he all would miss, “Oh Guru, ho jaa shuru!!”
