Delhi Government: Third Change in Law Portfolio in Past Six Months

Manish Sisodia takes over Kapil Mishra

Delhi Government is once again surrounded in a controversy as another change occurs in the Law portfolio, where Manish Sisodia takes over Kapil Mishra on 31st August. It has been a third change in past 6 months for the Law Minister profile. AAP claims it be a routine change, while other officials says it will help Kapil to focus on Water Department. Earlier in this event of being divested from Law portfolio Mishra has recommended for filing FIR against EX-Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, along with expressing an anxiety over his ‘removal’ from the post of Delhi Law Minister.

The change is being cross questioned by many, as Mishra was appointed the Law Minister only two months back. The former law minister Jitendra Singh Tomar resigned after charges of presenting fake educational documents surfaced.delhi-Third Change in Law Portfolio in Past Six Months

Mishra urged Arwind Kejriwal for filing an FIR against Sheila Dikshit, in connection with an possible scam in hiring water tankers, which allegedly caused loss of Rs.400 to the state. Kapil Mishra in his letter to Arvind Kejriwal stated that, “This could be a big expose and I am afraid that, attempts would be made to subvert our Delhi Government and remove me from the chair”

However, Kapil Mishra will be holding charge of Tourism and Water Departments. “Mishra has lot of work with the Tourism and Water Department, will be discharging duties accordingly” said government official in his talk with media. The media sources say that change has been enforced as a punishment for messing up the issues of notification on farm land rate revision. The frequent change in Law Portfolio is not very easy to digest, alongside it is also not a good political indication. The change will definitely give send some negative waves in the party workers who are working with different a ideology.
