Gangster Anandpal, a name that caused terror for years finally met his fate after his death.
Anand Pal was from a small town Sanwrad located in Didwana of Nagaur district in Rajasthan. He was a famous notorious gangster and had caused terror in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. He was giving rise to GUNDA RAJ in the state. Always equipped with high-tech weapons he was most wanted for murders and robbery.
Anand Pal was a Ravna Rajput. He was the first son in his family, after 2 elder sisters. Anand Pal held a bachelor of education (B.Ed) degree and also had been the president of students union in his college.
His political career began to take shape in 1999-2000 when he fought the elections for the Panchayat Samiti member. Anand Pal also got involved in illegal liquor trade and was very fond of AK-47 guns.
His crime stories dated back to 2006 when he was accused of killing Jeevan Ram Godara. Till date, 37 cases were registered against him. Out of these 37 cases, 6 of them were of murder.
Singh had serious charges against him including murder, extortion and robbery yet he lived a fearless life.
Today his family owns two flats in Jaipur’s posh colonies, each of them costing more than Rs 60 lakh. Besides this, the family also owns a mine in Makrana, including several ‘benami ‘properties. Anandpal’s daughter spent nearly Rs 20 lakh on engineering studies in Dubai.
Now even after his death, Anandpal a dreaded criminal continues to make the news. There has been a lot of chaos in various cities of the state including Nagaur, Sikar, and Churu since his death. People even started showing their anger through the social media platforms.
It’s been 17 days since his death yet his body has not been cremated by his family.
While he was hiding at a residence in Churu the Special Operations Group Anti-terrorist Squad of the Rajasthan police surrounded him and challenged him. Refusing to surrender, he opened fire on the police and got killed in these exchange rounds of fire. Along with him Constable Sohan Singh also sustained a bullet injury and is currently under the observation of doctors at SMS Hospital Jaipur.
However, his death has brought a huge unrest in Rajasthan. His death is being used to instigate violence and chaos across the state. The protests have also become violent.
The Rajput community is boiling since his death. They have blocked roads, damaged public property and demonstrated against police too. Community bodies like Rajput Sabha, Rajput Karni Sabha, and Pratap Foundation have together joined the protests. The family members and the Rajput community organizations are demanding a CBI probe in this case.
Besides the fact that Anandpal has killed many Rajputs( a teacher in Churu, Himmat Singh in Jaipur and Ladu Singh, the two constables and an inspector including Soham Singh shot at the time of his death too) Anandpal is being remembered as a martyr in the Rajput community.
Why is the community backing a man who killed many Rajputs? As a criminal he spared none.
It is the need of the hour that the community should stand with the widows of the three Rajput men killed by Anand Pal.
The biggest question today is that do we want to make our children notorious like Anandpal Singh?
Thus it is an appeal to everyone to stop creating a fake aura. Stop glamorizing the notorious criminal who already had several cases of murder, robbery, extortion, and kidnapping registered against him. It is important that the death of the gangster-like Anand Pal does not get glamorized for the bright future of the coming generation. After all, he was just a heartless criminal.
