Transgender are not accepted by the families and so is the result of this man who is now female. They have a different eye from society. Prithika hails from the Salem town of Tamil Nadu and underwent a sex change operation in 2011. However, the Computer Applications graduate was rejected by her family. After that’s he has been living with the help of Chennai transgender community.

Prithika applied for the police exam through the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB), but it was not an easier ride for her. She had to move to the high court after she found out that the form didn’t list any transgender category. She fought for her rights and finally with the help and approval of High court she got herself cleared for the written test and other procedures.

The court also directed TNUSRB to include transgender as a “third category” by the time the next recruitment process is carried out.

As per the reports, Prithika also filed petitions to bring down the cut-off for the written examinations from 28.5 to 25 marks. She was also a second slower than needed in the 100 metres dash, but managed to pass the physical test,

On Thursday when her appeal was answered on a positive note by High court she was all elated.

Prithika on this note said “This verdict is not just my victory, but rather it is a win for the entire transgender community.”

The Supreme Court has recognized transgender as a third gender. But the absence of a third category in application forms, which forced Prithika to go to court, represent that a lot need to be implemented on this course.
