iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Prices

Apple announced to lower down the prices of its newly launched iPhone 6s and 6s plus by 16%. It has been just a couple of month back that Apple has unveiled these two models. Now as the Indian market approaches to closing of financial year, company is seeking to boost up its sale in India by cutting down prices of highly sung devices.

Cost of iphone 6s (16GB), which was introduced at Rs.62000 in October 2015, will be now re-priced between Rs.52000 and Rs.55000. Whereas, a national retailer of iphone India told Economic Times that, average difference in price of all iphone’s all variants including 6s and 6s plus are now being sold at a price which is 15% lower than that of its launch price.

“It is for the first time that Apple flagship has brought down the prices within two months of launching devices,” said Tarun Pathak, Senior Analyst at Counterpoint Technology Market Research, during a conversation with TOI.

Apple introduced iphone 6s and 6s plus at price which is nearly Rs.8000 to Rs.9500 more than the prices of Iphone 6 and 6 plus. The same devices were Rs.14000 to Rs.16000 costlier than, those available in US, Middle East and Hong Kong.

In October this year Apple has imported nearly three lakh devices in India, which is came up to be world’s fastest – growing Smartphone market. However the recent data suggests that imports of 6s and 6s plus models dropped by 62% to 1.25 lakh in November. On the other side recent prices of iphone 5s has undergone third price slash in past three months, this device is now available at a starting price of Rs.24999, which nearly half of its cost in September.

Analysts said the price cut could re-ignite iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus demand in the coming months. “Now that they have aligned prices, we can see some sales happening in future quarters, which will also sustain Apple in the typically weaker periods of January to September,” added Tarun Pathak.
