Mini IPL 2016 Schedule, Teams and Venue Details

Mini IPL 2016

Isn’t IPL something that every individual of the country be it of any age eagerly waits for to return the next year? And why not when it’s not just about the cricket matches but certainly much much more to than that. But if you are among those diehard fans that just cannot wait for a whole year, well then there is good news. The Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) has declared to host a mini-IPL. The mini-IPL 2016 tournament will be conducted in September every year but not in India.  The tournament will be conducted abroad and thus is also termed as ‘Overseas IPL’.

BCCI President Anurag Thakur said, “In the month of September, the BCCI is willing to host a mini IPL or IPL overseas. [It will be] a shorter format, not home and away matches but a lesser number of matches; in a two-week window we will be able to complete it.” He said this at the end of the board’s working committee meeting in Dharamsala on Friday.
He added, “”It is a tight schedule. It is in a less than two-week window we have to organise [the tournament]. And we have to look into various details: which country we can play in, how many teams, how many players should participate, who will be the broadcaster – all these issues need to deliberated, but we are keen to play in that window.”

Well, the wait is of the complete schedule because after all who can wait now? Isn’t it?
